We would like to invite you to participate in the conference "Conceptualising vulnerability in a time of human rights regression", to be held on: 13-14 November 2023 at the University of Padua.

The programme of this year's conference revolves around the multidimensional ontological concept of 'vulnerability', with a particular focus on the challenges of the ongoing period of human rights regression. The event will develop this concept, not only in relation to individual and socio-political scenarios in which people are affected by the consequences of the destructive policies of neoliberalism, but also in relation to ecosystems affected by human-induced degradation phenomena.

Participation in the conference was announced by:
Baldassare Pastore, University of Ferrara;
Mariagrazia Gianmarinaro, former UN Special Rapporteur on trafficking in persons, especially women and children,
Teresa Pizarro Beleza, NOVA School of Law, University of Lisbon,
Roberto De Vogli, University of Padua.
The conference is organised by the Centro di Ateneo per i Diritti Umani "Antonio Papisca" and the UNESCO Chair "Human Rights and Human Security", in collaboration with the Faculty of Political Science, Law and International Studies of the University of Padua.
The following institutes are partners of the event: the Human Rights Consortium, University of London (UK), the UNESCO Chair "Human Rights and Human Security" University of Graz (Austria), the School of Global Studies, University of Gothenburg, Stop Ecocide International. The Institute of International Studies is a partner of the event.
